Field guide

How it works.

A plain-language guide to the prototype, its demo wallet, its simulated economy, and the safety rules that matter in any wallet-connected product.

Never share a seed phrase

Anyone with your seed phrase or private key can take everything in that wallet. No legitimate support team ever needs it.

This demo asks for nothing

The mock wallet is created locally. It never requests a seed phrase, private key, signature, or real wallet connection.

Local demo state only

Balance, cards, listings, and offers are saved in your browser. Use the wallet panel to reset the entire demo at any time.

Prototype, not a financial product

Pirate Cards is a design prototype. It does not offer investments, returns, staking, rewards, tokens, or NFTs. Any future blockchain implementation would require independent smart-contract audits, a security review of wallet and server flows, and legal review before launch.

Safety

Keys, wallets, and what a real launch would still need.

Will you ever ask for my seed phrase or private key?

Never. No legitimate support person, moderator, or team member needs your seed phrase or private key. This demo's mock wallet never asks for either and never signs a transaction. Never paste a seed phrase into any website.

What would real blockchain features require?

Independent smart-contract audits, a security review of wallet flows and servers, legal and regulatory review in every jurisdiction where the product is offered, reliable randomness or escrow infrastructure, and clear consumer disclosures. None of that is implemented here.

Basics

4 answers

Cards, packs, upgrades, and the demo wallet.

What is Pirate Cards?

A prototype digital collectible card experience. You browse original crews, open simulated packs with demo tokens, build a collection, trade in a demo marketplace, and combine duplicates in a simulated upgrade system.

Are the cards real NFTs?

No. Every card, listing, offer, balance, burn, fee, and upgrade in this MVP is local demo data stored in your browser. There is no smart contract, token, wallet signature, or blockchain transaction.

Why can't I upgrade a Legendary or Mythic?

The current recipes stop at Legendary: 5 Commons → Rare, 5 Rares → Epic, and 3 Epics → Legendary. Each upgrade consumes the input copies and charges a simulated fee of 500,000 / 1,000,000 / 3,000,000 demo tokens respectively.

Does the leaderboard reflect real players?

No. The leaderboard is populated with sample demo users and scores. Your row is calculated locally from your demo collection and is never submitted anywhere. It is not an investment ranking or a promise of rewards.

Economy

5 answers

Pack odds, fees, burns, supply, and the leaderboard.

How do packs work?

Each pack shows its price, card count, per-card odds, and any per-pack guarantees before you confirm. Pack contents are rolled by a seeded, testable demo generator. The same seed always produces the same result, which makes the demo auditable but not cryptographically secure.

Do guarantees apply per card or per pack?

All guarantees are per pack. For example, the Mythic Pack guarantees at least one Legendary-or-better card somewhere in the pack. The 30% Mythic chance is also per pack: there is at most one bonus Mythic from that roll. Details appear in the pack odds panel.

What happens to the 10% pack burn?

In the demo ledger, 10% of the pack price is recorded as burned and 90% is recorded as going to the prize pool. These are simulated bookkeeping entries, not on-chain transfers. No real tokens are created or destroyed.

How does the marketplace fee work?

A simulated 5% fee is taken from each demo sale: 2.5% to the demo treasury and 2.5% burned. The seller receives the other 95%. The minimum listing price is 500,000 demo tokens. Buying updates your demo balance, the seller's demo balance, the listing status, and your collection.

Is the 100,000,000,000 token supply meaningful?

No. It is an unverified proposal figure. A large supply does not make a token cheap, scarce, valuable, or likely to appreciate. This demo makes no claim about price, liquidity, returns, or future value.

Build

Local storage, scarcity metadata, and prototype limits.

What is stored on my device?

Your demo wallet label, balance, collection, listings, offers, and activity history are saved in localStorage under a single demo key. Use “Reset demo account” in the wallet panel to erase and restart. There are no private keys or seed phrases to store.

Are the scarcity limits enforced?

No. The proposed copy limits (Common 100,000 through Mythic 100) are informational metadata only. This prototype has no shared backend inventory, so it cannot enforce global scarcity. Nothing shown is verified on-chain supply.

One more safety rule

Bookmark official links and type them yourself. Do not trust token addresses, seed phrase forms, or “support” DMs sent to you. No moderator will ever ask for your seed phrase or private key.

A note on originality

Every character name, crew, epithet, ability, and flavor text in this demo was written for this project. All twenty-one card faces use painted artwork stored in public/cards. Draft names that appeared close to existing franchises were replaced. The project is not affiliated with or endorsed by any anime, manga, game, or collectible brand.
